Sept. 7 marks a decade since we lost a real original and one of our early inspirations. Nagi Noda was a commercial and video director, designer and fellow Saatchi & Saatchi Cannes New Director alumnus. Her handmade art films for Japanese and French fashion brands, pop stars and products are unique, inventive and full of magic. We met at dinner in London while we were both working with the agency Mother on different projects for the same client and she was pleasingly eccentric but charmingly unassuming and so obviously full of ideas. Ten years on her work is still as fresh and fun and crazy as when it was made -- we only wish she'd had the chance to do more.
